In brief

On Tuesday evening, an early incident at South Korea's Gimhae International Airport left all 176 individuals on the Airbus flight evacuated due to a fire that broke out in the tail section of the aircraft. Four passengers suffered minor injuries during their exit from the plane using emergency inflatable slides.

The fire reportedly ignited shortly before the aircraft was scheduled to depart for Hong Kong. Firefighters reached the scene within minutes and worked quickly to contain the flames, which had begun to spread to the fuselage of the plane. Eyewitness photos captured striking images of the burning aircraft being sprayed with water as emergency teams battled the blaze. This incident follows a tragic plane crash just weeks prior, wherein a Jeju Air jet crash-landed at Muan airport, resulting in the death of 179 people, although two survivors were recorded. Investigations are currently underway to establish the cause of the fire on the Air Busan flight, which carried 169 passengers and seven crew members. The airline is a low-cost carrier, operated by the larger Asiana Airlines, and the accident highlights ongoing safety concerns within South Korea's aviation sector.
