A luxurious new watch themed around a private zoo owned by India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, has been launched, showcasing a miniature sculpted figure of the tycoon’s youngest son, Anant Ambani, in the center.
Crafted by the prestigious watchmaker Jacob & Co, this timepiece is adorned with intricately designed figures of a lion and a Bengal tiger around Anant's seated statue. The total estimated value of the watch stands at $1.5 million, according to insights from industry watchers.
The private wildlife rescue center, famous for housing over 2,000 species including majestic lions and tigers, spans an impressive 3,500 acres. Although not open to the public, it has recently generated controversy regarding animal acquisition and treatment, though a Supreme Court investigation found no misconduct.
Vantara, the sanctuary in question, was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi last March and was a lavish venue for Anant Ambani’s notable pre-wedding celebrations, attended by numerous celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Rihanna.
Described by Jacob & Co as a tribute to Vantara, the watch's design features 397 precious stones including diamonds and green sapphires. A representative from the luxury brand indicated that the timepiece is yet to be available for retail.
