In brief

The lawsuit adds to Diddy's mounting legal challenges, including accusations of sexual assault and trafficking.

Sean "Diddy" Combs has been hit with a newly filed lawsuit in Los Angeles, alleging that he dangled a woman from a 17th-floor balcony during a confrontation in 2016. The plaintiff, fashion designer Bryana "Bana" Bongolan, states the altercation occurred when she was at an apartment belonging to Mr. Combs' then-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura. This latest claim is part of a series of allegations—now exceeding two dozen—against the music mogul, asserting offenses that span sexual assault, drugging, witness intimidation, and physical harm.Currently, Mr. Combs faces federal charges linked to a racketeering and sex trafficking scheme. He has categorically denied all allegations, including the most recent lawsuit, with a representative asserting that he “firmly denies these serious allegations” and believes they will be proven baseless in court. According to the lawsuit filed by Ms. Bongolan, the incident began when Mr. Combs began banging on the front door, demanding to enter. Once inside, he allegedly confronted Ms. Bongolan on the balcony, where he is accused of grabbing and molesting her. Ms. Bongolan claims that, during the altercation, Mr. Combs lifted her up and dangled her from the balcony, asserting that her efforts to resist were easily overpowered by him. The lawsuit alleges that Ms. Ventura eventually intervened, prompting Mr. Combs to violently pull Ms. Bongolan back inside, slamming her onto patio furniture. At the time of the alleged incident, Ms. Bongolan weighed just around 100 pounds, leading her to fear for her life as she struggled against Mr. Combs’ strength. She claims that this incident was part of a pattern of intimidation and threats throughout her interactions with Mr. Combs, asserting that he created a climate of “terror and abuse” during their professional relationship, which began when he recruited her for projects like a clothing line and album artwork. In her lawsuit, she is seeking $10 million in damages. Echoing the allegations made in a 2023 lawsuit filed by Ms. Ventura—who reportedly also faced similar abuses—Ms. Bongolan describes ongoing trauma related to her experiences with Mr. Combs. As of now, Mr. Combs remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, having been denied bail three times.
