TOLEDO, Ohio — In a recent address in Toledo, Vice President JD Vance attributed escalating turmoil over the White House's deportation efforts to the 'far left,' claiming their actions exacerbated tensions. 'If you want to turn down the chaos in Minneapolis, stop fighting immigration enforcement and accept that we have to have a border in this country,' Vance stated. Today, Vance is expected to meet with ICE agents in Minneapolis, a city recently spotlighted by protests after an agent fatally shot Renee Good, a mother of three, during a confrontation. In his remarks, Vance described Good’s death as 'a tragedy of her own making' and voiced support for the involved ICE agent. He also approved the arrest of protesters who disrupted a church service, stating, 'Those people are going to be sent to prison so long as we have the power to do so.' Vance emphasized the importance of upholding both the right to protest and the right to worship, paralleling his efforts to bolster the Trump administration's positive economic narrative amidst challenging polling data. 'You don’t turn the Titanic around overnight,' he urged supporters, emphasizing the need for patience as the nation faces economic recovery challenges inherited from the previous Democratic administration.
